Maranatha Missions is a Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Home Missions Organization that supports existing "Pioneer Churches", and serves to encourage Pastors who are starting pioneer works in areas that are completely un-churched. We are interested in sharing the Gospel with people right here in the United States who have never heard the truth, and do not have a Pentecostal Holiness Church to attend.
While we embrace the great commission of going into all the world, and we fully commend those who travel to foreign lands to share the Gospel, we feel that God has called us to labor in the familiar but often forgotten fields of home.
We feel the burden to strengthen the hands of those who are laboring in the most crucial mission field of all - right here in the U.S.A. There are many entire states here in America and countless U. S. cities that do not have a Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. In Acts 1:8, Jesus commanded his disciples to be witnesses of Him. He listed Jerusalem first, and then Judea and Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth. We believe that His emphasis was first on Jerusalem because that was home to the disciples.
Every year the American churches send countless resources to the mission fields abroad, but we must be careful not to neglect our own homeland. If we fail to evangelize our own nation, and we don't get it right here at home, then there is the possibility that future support of foreign missions could be altered. It is high time we focus on the familiar fields of home, for there are multitudes of unbelievers right here in our own back yard. Let us take advantage of the freedoms that we have and exercise our rights to the fullest degree. May America become our mission field!
