We were so thankful for the group that came down from Indiana to help. We were so proud to see how hard they worked and how willing they were to serve. In 2 days of outreach they knocked on roughly 300 doors and then we went to downtown Tuscaloosa and handed out 600 tracts on the University of Alabama campus. I know that God will reward their efforts and give a harvest - both in Tuscaloosa and at their Home churches in Indiana.
It is an amazing thing to find:
Teenagers and young adults who are...
#1. Willing to do fundraisers to raise their own money for the trip
#2. Eager to do whatever we asked and work wherever they were needed
#3. Who didn't mind spending their last week of summer break on a Mission Trip
#4. Adults who took a week off of work - spending their vacation time - to go help another church do outreach and have revival.
#5. A Pastor and church that were willing to lend their Youth Pastor and youth group to another church for a week to give them the opportunity to minister and help build the Kingdom of Heaven, and to strengthen and encourage the work that is going on there.
All of this takes people who have seen THE BIG PICTURE! Our churches shouldn't be little separate kingdoms. We should be able to help strengthen the hands of fellow laborers without fear or reservation knowing that we are Helping Build the Kingdom of Heaven which helps us all. And that is THE BIGGER PICTURE!
